About the Masonry Institute of Tennessee

In 1981, the Masonry Institute of Tennessee was founded in Memphis to educate professionals in the construction industry on the many strengths of masonry. The mission at MIT is to provide technical data on the economics of masonry, its advantages, and its many uses.

Masonry is one of the oldest forms of construction known to man. For centuries, it has been an accepted and proven form of construction for all types of structures. Today, the Masonry Institute of Tennessee highlights the dependability and versatility of masonry, and advocates for its use in modern architectural designs.

The Masonry Institute of Tennessee drives innovation and advancement in the industry by fostering collaboration and networking among construction professionals, including architects, engineers, contractors, and suppliers, as well as students.
